It was reported 16th June 1877 that two fowls, value 10 shillings, had
been stolen from publican Robert Sucker. The golden pencilled fowls had been
kept near the engine in the Ten Mile River. Watermen Edward Cawley and Jesse
Vaughan were accused of the crime, but the Bench dismissed the case.
