Licensee William Andrews at the door c1890.
Friday 11th September 1868 - Application by Mr. Harwood for a full
licence - Refused.
At the Licensing Meeting of Tuesday 2nd February 1909, John Ward said
that he had held the licence since July 1908. Prior to that, his parents
were licensees.
Lodgers stayed at the house and travellers and licensed hawkers were
amongst his customers.
Mr. Ernest Bullard said the house sold 26 barrels of beer a year, which
was a nice little trade for a house of its character.
The magistrates referred the licence.
(Provisional licence granted)
Licence refused at Compensation Authority meetings of 21st and 23rd June
1909.
Reported as a beerhouse, owned by Bullard & Sons Ltd and run by licensee J.
T. Ward.
At the meeting of the Norfolk Licensing Committee, held Wednesday
15th December 1909, it was reported that since the settlement for
the BELL
had been 10s a barrel in compensation, the award for the Red
Lion would be reduced from the expected 12s a barrel to 10s.
Referred for compensation 31st May 1910 by Bullards
