On the evening of Saturday 26th April 1856 Charles Frost, licensee of the Black Horse was found in possession of goods taken from the farm of Mr. Pearson. The property consisted of 6½ bushels of oats, 6½ bushels of chaff with wheat, six stones of hay and one hundred eggs. Frost and a man named Bullock, who was steward to Mr. Pearson, were remanded until the next Munford Petty Sessions.

Valued in document dated 25th July 1889 at £620.

  Licensee William Barmstone was absent from the house from 23rd September to the 26th September 1908. During his absence, his aunt, Annie Marie Howard was left in charge. During that time blacksmith Thomas Pledger stole a pair of brown boots from the house. Pledger was arrested at Brandon Swan, wearing the boots. On Tuesday, 29th September 1908 he was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment.  



Referred for closure by compensation Wednesday, 28th September 1921.
