On Monday 2nd November 1885 it was heard that the late landlord, John
Grummett had left suddenly and apparently left the country. Joseph
Gathercole applied for an endorsement to the licence in order that
business could carry on until a proper licence could be obtained. The
Bench granted the application.
Valued at £650 including 5 acres of land 25th July 1889.
Walter White Youngs (1926)
is intriguingly listed in the licence register as `Killed' without any further explanation.
The house was closed and de-licensed 1984. |
