In October 1840, William Coates thanked Noblemen, the
Clergy, Commercial Gentlemen, Etc., for past Favors in the POSTING
BUSINESS based at the Angel Inn. With Good Horses for the Road and
Careful Drivers and Riders, all Orders would be thankfully acknowledged
and punctually attended to. John Poll, late Ostler at the Swan Inn,
would be in attendance on the Commercial Gentlemen's Horses.
George Baker was licensee at this time.

George Baker advised his Friends that he had provided a quantity of
Pigeons to be Shot on Monday 3rd March 1843.
