![]() The original Plough, long after closure - 1995 Building said to date from 17thC. In a case relating to the theft of a donkey, heard Saturday 11th October 1856, the name of house was reported as the PLOUGH AND SICKLE. (in error?) All the Household Furniture and other Effects of the house were to be Sold By Auction, Thursday, 2nd October 1856. House purchased as private property c1985. Following closure of this property, the name PLOUGH & SHUTTLE was removed to other premises (Date to be determined). Later, the "new" house was renamed FLAGS.
