Ivy Cottage - shortly before demolition.
On Friday 3rd March 1905 George Savoury applied for licence
renewal. PC Smith said that only one room, the kitchen, was used for the
purpose of trade. It was about 18 feet square. The
EIGHT RINGERS
was 283 yards away and the
SWAN
760 yards. The Eight Ringers was a larger house and was better
accommodated for trade.
Mr. Savoury made a living from the house, selling a barrel and a half,
sometimes more, every week.
Licence provisionally renewed and matter referred to the Quarter
Sessions.
Licence expired 7th June 1906
Referred for Compensation 14th August 1907
Demolished in mid 1900's ?
