Image by William Smith, c1958. Only identified by name in 1845, 1852 & 1854. Said to trade until c1900. For Sale by Auction, Monday, 4th October 1852. A centrally situated Beer-house with Yards, Stables, and other useful Outbuildings. "Where a good business has been carried on for a length of time". On the night of Thursday, 23rd March 1854, a man slept here, but slipped out in the morning without paying his score, and taking with him a pair of shoes, handkerchiefs and other articles. Located near Norfolk Bridge (Over Well Creek) Became part of West's blacksmith's premises, later Curtis coach-builders. Building destroyed by fire 1998.
