William Ranns is recorded in a December 1858 inquest.
Thomas Valentine was said by some, to have been struck by Ranns and subsequently fell over the side of a bridge and was drowned.

By 1904 Charles Bunfield & Son are recorded at Pentney Mill Farm, there is no mention of beer. Pentney Mill Farm is last found in 1912. By 1916 David Bunfield is at Abbey Farm.
