It was advertised 28th March 1835 that a property, late ownership of Mrs. Ann Patfield, deceased, was to be Sold. The substantial Brick and Tiled Dwelling House, Blacksmith's Shop, Stable, &c. was in a central location with a good trade having been carried on for many years as a Smith and Farrier.
Particulars were available from Mr. J. Nelson of Sparham, Mr. William Smith of Bawdeswell or of Mr. Thomas Brand of Reepham.
(The sale took place at the Greyhound on Wednesday 19th August 1835)

Mrs Grand was returning from Norwich in her pony-gig on Saturday 22nd(?) January 1842 when she was overtaken by the Elsing Mill Waggon which was being driven at full gallop by John Daynes. They made contact and the gig was smashed to atoms. Mrs. Grand was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital where it was discovered that both he thighs were broken. She lingered until Monday, but then died.
Driver Daynes was committed to trial.

Found as the HORSE SHOE in 1836 & in the Licence Registers from 1903.

Mr. R. P. Gooch applied for a six day licence for the Horseshoes, Monday 25th September 1873 - Granted.


The Licence Registers record that the licence was referred to the Compensation Authority 26th February 1906.
On 30th December 1907 the Compensation Authority declared that no compensation would be awarded.

Premises continued in use as a blacksmiths, the last horse being shod in 1962.

The site was redeveloped as a shop.
