Address in 1841 given as at
Pettiwell - The Vale
On Monday, 2nd January 1837, in the sale of Land, by order of the
Trustees of the late Peter Williams Esq., Lot Number 6. consisted of
Four exceedingly good pieces of Meadow Ground known as Katchback Meadow,
in excess of 8 Acres, and in the occupation of John Neale. (Sale
originally scheduled for Wednesday, 30th November 1836.)
In June 1842, stock dealer John Neale, of Edgefield, was robbed
of £29 by a woman at Reepham Fair. The woman then made off with a
notorious character known as Beak Blyth, who had been in custody 22
times.... The lady was remanded in Wymondham Bridewell, Mr. Blyth was
later arrested.
<Is John Neale related to, or the same person as John Neal at the
King's Arms?>
On Monday, 14th May 1860, John Neale, dealer of Reepham, was fined £1
and costs for failing to produce a ticket when travelling third class on
the
Eastern Counties Railway to Trowse. He had claimed that he had lost the
ticket and had refused to pay the 1s 8½d fare when requested. Having been
then been summoned, he had not appeared and so a warrant had been obtained for his
apprehension.
It was reported at the Petty Sessions, Monday 1st September 1890 that there
would be no application for the licence to be renewed.
