NOTE :- Although Mr. Alexander Watson is given in trade directories
from at least 1928, newspaper reports in January and September 1939
give Mr. W. Alexander as the occupant of the Plough.

John Hall and Hubbard Woodfield being occupants of adjoining cottages which
were also in sale.
For Sale by Auction Tuesday 18th September 1827.
Occupant said to be Henry Harper.
William Charles Smith, already living at the Plough, applied for a licence
to sell Intoxicating Liquor at the Annual Licensing Meeting, 3rd September
1883.
20 barrels sold in the year immediately before closure.
On 11th January 1957, Donald Mackenzie of the
ROSE & CROWN,
Marham applied to the Justices for removal of the licence of the Plough
to the Rose & Crown in order that he would be allowed to sell by retail
any intoxicating liquor by retail either on or off the premises.
Licence transferred to the ROSE & CROWN,
Marham.
