Mentioned in Bullards report dated 1871.
Licence referred at Watton licensing session held 2nd February 1910.
At the Adjourned Licensing Sessions, Wednesday 2nd March 1910 it was said
that the sanitary arrangements were defective (There was no urinal) and was structurally inferior
to the PLOUGH BOY
which was some 844 yards away. The stable accommodation was used as storage.
Licensee Vargessen said to have been at the house for over 12 years.
Licence referred to the Quarter Sessions on the grounds that the house was
redundant and structurally unsatisfactory.
Licence not renewed at licensing meeting of 20th June 1910.
Sales in past years reported 1910 as:-
1907 - mild 24 barrels, XXX and K, 3¼ barrels and stout 2½
barrels.
1908 -
mild 26½ barrels, XXX and K, 2½ barrels and stout 1¾ barrels.
1909 - mild 26 barrels, XXX and K, 3½ barrels and stout 2 barrels.

Freehold property referred for compensation 15th November 1911
It was reported at the Brewster sessions 7th February 1912 that Compensation
had been paid on 16th December 1911 and the house had been closed.
