Mentioned 23rd August 1828 as the property of William Brown and in the occupation of John Whall.

The HORSE SHOES when offered for Sale by Auction Saturday, 24th December 1831, the property of the late William Brown.
With Stable, garden and Piece of Land, containing about Two Acres.

The Annual Ball, held by Robert Bird on Wednesday 30th October 1861 was attended `by a goodly number, as has been usual, though not as many as last year....'

It was reported December 1904 that in earlier days there was a Cattle Fair held every Easter Tuesday at the Horse Shoes Inn.
