Friday 19th January 1855; all the Household Furniture,
Fixtures and Fittings of John Lock, Miller and Baker, were
to be Sold by Auction under a Deed of Assignment to
Creditors.
In April 1958, it was reported that Miss Florence Lock
recalled her grandparents had taken over the house in
1848 and remained here until 1887. Her
father then took over, but died two years later. His wife,
Mary Ann Lock then carried on the trade.
It would appear that the date of 1848 should be 1858. Henry
Williams being given here in the 1856 Trade Directory.
