In 1851 Ann Bullen is living with her 10 year old daughter at North Pool.
George Bullen is lodging at the Chequers, South Lynn along with his three
sons, all listed as bricklayers. It is probable that Mrs Bullen was running
the beerhouse whilst the male family were working on a major building
contract.
Location as North Pole in 1868.
As the BRICKLAYERS ARMS in the 1881 census
Un-named Beer Retail at Pool Road 1883, 1888, 1896, 1900, 1904 &
1908.
Referred to Compensation (BRICKLAYERS ARMS) at licensing meeting March 1910 but although amount of compensation had
been fixed by the authorities, it had still not been paid by February 1912,
so it was assumed that the licensees would be making application for
provisional licenses.
