Isaac Josh, Wheelwright,  applied for a licence to sell beer from a house, in his occupation, and owned by him, on Sutton Road, Terrington St. Clement, as per a notification dated 10th August 1874.

At the Licensing Meeting of Monday 7th September 1874 it was heard that after the last meeting, the appointed surveyor had assessed that the Hare & Hounds required "borough repair" and only had an annual (rateable) value of £7, rather than the £8 that had been required by the Bench for licence renewal. Following that meeting, Mr. Josh obtained a certificate from independent valuers who assessed the house at £9 per annum.
The Bench refused the licence application.

On Monday 20th March 1876, wheelwright Isaac Josh was accused of being in enclosed premises at 1:00 pm on 12th March and stealing wood. With "Not a tittle of evidence" the case was dismissed.
