(On 31st July 1876, Samuel Watson of Cranwich [See LEATHER BOTTLE] applied to the Overseers of the Poor in the Parish of St. Cuthbert, and the Superintendent of Police, that at the next General Annual Licensing Meeting, on 28th August, the licence of Charles Dickerson be removed and be transferred to himself. This seems to have been a failed application.)
