It was reported 30th June 1838 that the house of the widow
Barsham,
the Star, had been broken into on Tuesday 12th June. Three bottles of
liquor, a part of a cooked ham and 2 or 3 shillings were taken. The police
were suspicious of several bad characters lodging at the
COACH & HORSES
beerhouse and following a search of those premises, a great part of the
stolen property was found there.
Valuation given 25th July 1889 as £700
It was advised 27th February 1952 that the former Norwich City footballer,
Mr. "Tot" Pike would take over the Star Inn on 9th April.
Steward & Patteson report prepared for Watney Mann, May 1969 recommended immediate
closure. "Structure unsound and trade has dropped by 75% since road closed."
