The BOAT 1784 The Live and Dead Farming Stock, part of the Household Furniture and other Effects of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Beckerton were to be sold by auction Monday 27th September 1847. The sale included some 146 Lambs and Ewes, 18 Steers and Heifers, 50 Geese, 40 Turkeys and 2 Guinea Fowls. As SHOVE BOAT in Kelly's 1869 directory. The Live and Dead Stocks of Mr. John Linferd were to be sold upon the premises, Monday, 8th October 1877 since he was quitting his farm at Michaelmas. The Live and Dead Farming Stocks of Mr. Charles Fendick were to be Sold, Monday, 9th October 1905, since he was giving up farming. The sale to include, 12 Horses, 14 head of neat Stock, 54 Sheep, 50 head of Poultry and Implements. The Livestock and Agricultural Implements of the late Mr. George Cousins were to be sold here on Thursday 9th October 1913. Used as base by Home Guard during WWII. Sten gun practice held in nearby field. Closure agreed at First Joint Committee Meeting of Bullards and S&P 29th May 1962. Sales given as 47 barrels in 1961 Licence surrendered. Licence not renewed at the Annual General Licensing Meeting 1962. |
