On Monday 4th September 1871, Mr. Seppings of Lynn applied for renewal
of licence. It was said that if Mr. Groom had appeared before the
magistrates for the application, he would have been cautioned regarding
his conduct of the house, but he was under notice to quit and would not
appear. Mr. Seppings said he would be glad to take the warning and
receive a reprimand, if the magistrates would only grant the licence.
With the promise of a new tenant, the licence was renewed.
