Described as a Freehold, Retail Beer-house when offered for sale by Private Treaty, September 1852, by order of the Devisees in trust of the late Mr. James Patterson, deceased.
"In which a good trade in Beer has been carried on for some years, with Stable adjoining thereto, and Land lying under the same, containing 2a. 3r. 2p., together with Two Cottages, divided into Three Tenements, abutting upon Mill Lane north, land of Stephen Place in part and the Turnpike Road from Lynn to Wisbech in other part east, land of Sir W. B. Ffolkes, Bart. south, and lands of Mr. John Ingram west. Now in occupation of William Esgate and his undertenants. Possession at Michaelmas next."
