On Tuesday 11th September 1779, a sale of property was held at the Queen's Head, East Harling. Lot No. 5 was an Inn at Tivetshall named the SWAN, complete with Stables and 2 A. 1 R. of land adjoining. Occupant was Joseph Hardy at the annual rent of £6. Unfortunately the description did not include whether the site was at Tivetshall St. Margaret or at St. Mary. |
