As the THREE MILLERS 1760 &
1807
Following his appearance before the magistrates on Wednesday 18th May 1859,
William Carver adjourned to a public house and solaced himself in the
company of a girl of low character and two other females like her. The women
"compensated for the unamiability of their physiognomics by the extreme
amiability of their manners." Following the rest of the day drinking gin, he
became thoroughly obfuscated and on reviving found he had been robbed of £2
10s.
On Thursday 19th May, Mr. Carver failed to appear in court, so the girl of
low character was consequently discharged with a caution.
