23rd February 1811 - Thomas Edwards advised his friends and the public in general that he was compelled to leave his house in the street. He would continue to supply lime of the finest quality. Orders could be left at the Tollgate or at the sign of the Lime Kiln. It seems Mr. Edwards was never licensee of the Lime Kiln public house. For Sale by Auction Tuesday 11th June 1816, late in the occupation of Arabia Chamberlain, widow, deceased. Possession from Michaelmas 1816. For Sale by Auction Wednesday 23rd October 1816, late in the occupation of Arabia Chamberlain, widow, deceased. Immediate possession. 29th March 1834 - John Flowerdew, junior, advised that he had taken the Trowse Eye Lime Kiln, late in the occupation of Mr. Goose. All letters to be sent to the Trowse Eye Public-house. Was he also the licensee? In December 1837, the Lime Kilns of the late Mr. Thomas Edwards were advertised `To Let with Immediate Possession. Apply to Mrs. Chamberlain on the Premises.' ~ |
