At Petty Sessions held Monday 16th May 1870, Robert Wilson of Wood
Dalling was accused by Mr. Bussens of a brutal assault on Mrs. Bussens.
Not attending court, Wilson was fined £2 and £1 costs or one month's
imprisonment. |

Frederick Copeman appears to have purchased the premises 18.06.1861 for a total sum of
£650
Described in Conveyance dated 1863 as formerly 2 dwellings, now used as a public house
with the Bakehouse building, formerly in the occupation of Charles Vout, and late in the
occupation of James Bussens.
The 1863 conveyance is between Frederic Copeman of Long
Stratton, Miller, of the one part and Robert Bussens of Corpusty, Butcher, of the other
part. Reference is made to an indenture dated 7th February 1859 between Sir Samuel
Bignold, of the first part, James Bussens, of the 2nd part and Henry Staniforth Patteson
of the 3rd part.
Robert Bussens, Publican, Butcher and Baker, adjudicated Bankrupt on 14th
June 1864. Order of Discharge granted 2nd August 1864.
House closed 7th March according to Bullards records.
