Known to be trading by 1835 Identified as the HOLKHAM NEW INN at West End in Whites 1836 directory. Offered For Sale December 1837, following the bankruptcy of Samuel Strutt earlier in the year. Described as a Freehold Public House with about One Acre of Land. Address as Lower Road in 1851 West End 1864 & 1865 Offered To Let, July 1877 by Steward & Patteson. With Immediate Possession. Offered For Sale 5th December 1890, the Lease by Steward & Patteson due to expire June 1891. Withdrawn from sale after bidding only reached £310. Purchased June 1891 by Colonel Fielden and licence removed to the PARK TAVERN 7th September 1891. |
