A cottage built in 1825 - Converted by Edward Wickham to a public house in 1846. Offered for sale by auction 22nd July 1878. At the Licensing Sessions held during the week of Monday 1st February 1904, the SAILORS HOME INN was reported as having been closed by Messrs. Morgans since the 1903 session. Licence not renewed at February 1904 Sessions. Edward Wickham also ran the WHEATSHEAF which was situated on the opposite side of Freeman Street. |
