Initially a shop run by William Girling, apparently known as the Tewkesbury Stores. Became the TEWKESBURY ARMS by 1871. Still referenced as the TEWKESBURY STORES 1872 At the Petty Sessions, 5th September 1887, William Girling sought to obtain the transfer of spirit licence from the PRINCE OF WALES to the TEWKESBURY STORES. The application was granted. Renamed the PRINCE OF WALES c1887 when the house by that name, in the High Street, closed. |
