(The Lamb & Flag is the crest of Merchant Tailors).
In 1825, a Miss Horn attempted to gain possession of the Lamb & Flag
under the will of her farther. It was discovered that the property was
"entailed", which limited the inheritance over a number of generations
within a particular family.
The Household Furniture of William Lock was For Sale by Public
Competition, Monday, October 8th, 1848.
Part of the Union Brewery Estate, offered for sale by auction Wednesday 25th
July 1866 but after only reaching £770, remained unsold.
