George Christopher was summoned on the 7th December 1864 for having his
house open during illegal hours on 27th October 1864. The case was
adjourned in order that witnesses to contradict the charge could be
produced.....
He was again before the magistrates on Wednesday 23rd April 1867 charged
with an assault, said to have occurred on Monday 15th April, on Mary
Loades.
Mrs Loades confirmed that she had held up an iron bar to Mr. Christopher
and that he had taken it away from her in self defence. It was in that
struggle that she was hit on the head.
The Bench dismissed the case. |
