In November 1839 the Forehoe Agricultural Assocation awarded Prizes to Agricultural and Tradesmen's Servants.
The only woman in the latter group was Mary Jackson, for 12 years servant to Mr. William Shingles, who received One Pound.
(A total of about £50 was distributed in prizes, and in addition, extra Rewards from 2s 6d to 10s were given for servitude, &c. to deserving candidates.)
