The Norfolk News of 29th June 1861 carried details of the forthcoming auction, Tuesday July 16th 1861, of :- Lot 1 THE BREWERY occupied by Mrs Rust. Lots 2, 3 and 10 were garden and land. Lot 8 was the RED LION, Wighton, with Blacksmiths Shop and occupied by Isaac Vertagan and .....Cooper. Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 were other public houses in Wells and Hindringham. Closure by compensation proposed March 1910, however the Bench agreed to keep the house open. Advertised To Let, August 1915. Licence transferred to the CARPENTERS ARMS 1st February 1926 |
