House said to be run in a disorderly manner at the Sessions held 2nd September 1852.
The police objected to licence renewal and it was refused by the
magistrates. (Including the Mayor there were 16 magistrates at the sitting,
four of whom signed in favour of licence renewal, the others did not)
Seemingly the house continued trading as a beerhouse for a few years.
Not found by name after 1854
(William Lawn is described at un-named premises, in 1856 by Craven, as a beer retailer.) |
