First licence awarded Tuesday 2nd September 1856 to Benjamin Myhill. Location described as `Where Cowgate joins the Plain stands the Bakers Arms ' - on the corner of Whitefriars Street. An application was made Saturday 22nd August 1891, by Robert Thompson, for a music and singing licence. Since the room involved was only 16 ft by 10 ft and the sanitary accommodation was indifferent, the application was refused. Licence provisionally refused 12.02.1913 and referred for Compensation. Closed under Compensation 31.12.1913. Demolished for `road improvements '. |
