2009 Licensee Edmund Craske given 1842, probably at house pre 1840. Modernised 1983. "Not spoiled unduly - clean bar and plush lounge in two parts Refurbished by Whitbread at a reported cost of £100,000 over a twelve week period, completed April 1988. Described as having `removed a few walls, moving some doors and rearranging the bar'. The interior decorated with `a mixture of grey, pastel pink, red wood, brick, glass and brass'. Space said to have been increased by a third and providing an open plan pub with two wings. (Corner entrance blocked up) Refurbished over a ten month from October 2008 to return the business to a public house rather than the "posh French restaurant" it had become under previous tenants. Refurbished 2015 with wooden floors throughout, a comfortable seating are with leather sofas and plasma televisions for sports channels..... |
