Advertised 3rd September 1737 To be Let from Michaelmas. An ancient and well-accustomed Inn with Garden and Stables. Mr. John Sadler then in occupation. George Vale gave notice 29th September 1737 that he had taken the Inn and would enter at Michaelmas. 14th April 1742 - Advertised To Let from Michaelmas, the tenant, Mr. Ribchester being determined to leave. Enquire of Mr. Peter Harvey, Brewer, Norwich. 16th August 1744 - Clement Jermy offered all customers Old ale for 3d a full Quart, Mild and Old for 2½d and all Mild ale for 2d. He would also constantly take the London News for the accommodation of his customers. March 1779 - To Let, Immediately. All that Ancient, commodious Inn or Public Hose called the Cross Keys. With two stables large enough for almost fifty horses. To be Let at a cheap Rent and other Encouragements besides. Address in 1912 as 112 Magdalen Street. The Chief Constable objected to licence renewal
at the February 1906 Sessions. This was an old house, in bad repair. The Bar and Taproom
were inconveniently small and supervision from the living room was not
possible. The
sanitary accommodation was bad. The house was very unsuitable as licensed premises, with
