Between three and four o'clock on the previous Sunday morning, Mr. Bishop claimed that the whole neighbourhood had been disturbed by two women who were loudly knocking on the public house door. The noise continued for ten to fifteen minutes. he further stated that the house was visited by lewd women and he had seen them at the window almost in a state of nudity. Such behaviour had been noticeable over the previous six weeks. William Capes had been art the house for about three months and no complaint had been offered against him in that time. The police had visited the house following information from Mr. Bishop, but had found nothing to report. The Magistrates ordered the matter to be recorded.
