Charles Barnes is a printer at Bedford Street, St. Andrew's in 1865.

Location given as South of Colegate, just off the West side of Duke Street.

New licence granted to Charles Barnes Tuesday 27th August 1867.
(This being a full licence, possibly operating as a beerhouse previously)
The licence was granted since a great deal of money had been spent on the premises, there was a good deal of accommodation for vehicles which would relieve the market-place and there were stables for sixteen horses which could be enlarged to accommodate thirty. Mr. Barnes pledged that he would not allow fireworks or any exhibition of that sort, to take place.

Licence not taken up 1889.

House demolished and site included within new school buildings.
