Appears in the Licence Registers as the EXCISE CUSTOM HOUSE and then, by 1882 as the EXCISE COFFEE HOUSE. Named the EMPIRE in the Licence Register from 03.04.1897. but seemingly known as the EMPIRE MUSIC HALL. Had an entrance on Lower Goat Lane and an emergency exit on Upper Goat Lane. Became the NEW THEATRE STORES 09.12.1902 Address given as No. 4 Lower Goat Lane in 1883, |
