Samuel Browne advised the Public, 9th February 1754, that he had
removed from the Five Alls, Hay Market, to the
GEORGE
in the Upper Market, situated between the
POPE'S HEAD and the
WOUNDED HART, facing the Butchery.
He would continue making Fearnought and Duffield as usual, but since
he was excluded from trading with the City Shopkeepers, he would
sell his material by the Yard, at the price that any shop could buy
it. He also sold New and Second Hand Clothes, also Oranges and
Lemons Wholesale and Retail.
All persons having Goods in Pawn were advised to Redeem them within
a Fortnight, or they would be sold.
(Was he a licensee or a trader operating from licensed
premises?)
