Tuesday 11th July 1871 - Convicted of allowing gaming, card playing, in his house on previous Saturday. Pleading guilty, Mr. Sands was fined 15s and 7s costs, or in default, 21 days imprisonment.

A complaint (undated)  was registered against landlord Sands regarding card playing, the name of house recorded as the
FREEMAN ARMS.

Removal of licence (FIREMANS ARMS) to premises situated in Mancroft Street, Dereham Road, was recorded at the Licensing Meeting held 10th August 1873. However on Tuesday 26th August 1873, the Magistrates refused the application.
Licence removed 1875 - To be held by Abel Chapman.
