Location also as St. Miles. Possibly the same as the CROWN & SCEPTRE to 1845. Probably the same as the FREEMAN ARMS, as recorded 1856. A complaint (undated) was registered against landlord Sands regarding card playing, the name of house recorded as the FREEMAN ARMS. Removal of licence (FIREMANS ARMS) to premises situated in Mancroft Street, Dereham Road, was recorded at the Licensing Meeting held 10th August 1873. However on Tuesday 26th August 1873, the Magistrates refused the application. Licence removed 1875 - To be held by Abel Chapman. See MANCROFT ARMS. |
