At the Licensing Sessions held Thursday 2nd September 1852 it was heard that the original licence was issued to Mr. Waites on the express understanding that the house was to be used as a liquor shop. Mr. Fitt intended to make it a common public-house. The report only recorded that some discussion arose as to the propriety of the application. Mrs Fitt is at the GIN SHOP in 1863. Found as the COUNTY ARMS in the 1864 directory and officially recorded as such from 25th October 1867. |
