From the City of Norwich records of Coroner's Inquests, held mostly at public houses, in 1831. The inquest into the death of Abraham Cooper was held here 10th May 1831. Having shot himself in the head, the majority of jurors decided that he was a lunatic. On 13th June 1831 it was recorded that John Thompson had hanged himself at his father's house. Verdict : "A fit of temporary derangement". On 23rd June 1831 a verdict of "a Visitation of God" upon John Bygrave who had been "seized with an attack or paralysis and died".
