According to the Norfolk Chronicle of 10th November 1866, William F. Musk suffered a fine of 1s and costs on Wednesday 7th November 1866 for having house open before half-past twelve on the previous Sunday. Baker and Beer Retailer 1868. Not identified 1869. Note that John Musk is at the BAKERS ARMS, Oak Street, from 1869, but according to the licence registers, he took over directly from a Mr. Betts. William John Musk is at the BAKERS ARMS, Millers Lane from 1888. The 1866 report is the only reference naming the HALF WAY HOUSE, so it could be a mistaken report. Apart from 1866 and 1868, no other references to a licensee named William F Musk have been found. Could William F. be an error for William J. ? This was probably a short-lived beerhouse. |
