Only identified as the IRONFOUNDERS in the 1851 census.

Matthew Bell is given as at a beerhouse in Ber Street in 1850 by Hunt., but the same year, Slater describes him as a shopkeeper in Ber Street.
White gives him as a shopkeeper in 1854.

By 1856 he is named at the LOCK & KEY, 89 Ber Street, by Melville.
(Craven gives him as at a beerhouse in Long Quay, in 1856)

George Hewitt, ironfounder was adjudged bankrupt 10th September 1864. His Creditors were to meet 5th October 1864.

Believed to be the FOUNDRY ARMS "in the best part of Ber Street" when offered For Sale by Auction, Thursday, 15th September 1864.
The sale to include newly-built brick and tile Building, lately used as a Foundry; Work and Blacksmith's Shops, Fish House, Stable and Coach House.

It was reported Wednesday 29th March 1865 that the bankrupt George Hewett, late a prisoner for debt; before that of the FOUNDRY ARMS, Ber Street, publican and ironfounder, and previously of the RED LION, Red Lion Street, publican and ironfounder, had his discharge from debt signed at the Norwich County Court. His debts had been a total of £515 3s 6d. Assets of debts owed to him, £286 9s 4d; by Freehold, copyhold and leasehold property, £90; stock in trade £70; giving a deficiency of £68 13s 8d. <an error of 6d?>

In June 1866, Henry Shimmons of Ber street was accused of stealing £6 7s 0d, the property of William Hewitt, publican and ironfounder of Ber street.
