Only identified 1808. The Coroner's Inquest into the death of 45 year old Samuel Clarke was held here 28th October 1808. He had fallen from a waggon in Half Mile Lane near Stone Hills and had been run over. Verdict "Accidental death". Another inquest, at the Jolly Farmers, Heigham, was held 19th November 1808. Sixteen year old Sarah Sapey had been killed when the waggon she was riding overturned (in a former marl pit) and crushed her. Mrs. Sapey, age 43, who was also in the waggon had suffered the same fate. Verdict "Accidental deaths". |
