John Hutton was granted a new full licence at the Annual Licensing Session, Tuesday 30th August 1864 with the condition that it should be a wholesale house, should close at ten at night and not open on Sundays.

Situated on Brigg Street opposite Orford Place.
This was a relatively small house.
The total ground floor measuring some 19 feet square, which included a large fireplace and staircase to the next floor.
Toilets were off the 1st floor landing and actually in the adjoining building.
The kitchen was off the 2nd floor landing, also in the building next door.

Held a 6 day licence from 1864 to at least 1876.

On Tuesday 5th September 1882, the Fully Licensed Bar, known as the London Restaurant  and the adjoining Shop and Dwelling-house, were offered For Sale by Auction. The Shop and Dwelling had been in the occupation of Henry John Tipping, deceased and the sale of his whole estate had been ordered by the High Court of Justice, Chancery Department in the case of Tipping v Kitton.
(On 22nd November 1884, Alfred J. Collins, Tobacconist, late F. Kitton, informed his Patrons that he was moving from 10, Haymarket to 17, St. Stephen's Street, which were more commodious premises.)

Offered for sale 26th January 1900 as a Freehold Estate
(Lot 2)

Licence dropped 25.10.1935 and the property was sold.
A condition of sale was that it could no longer be used as licensed premises.
