Mary Ann Sexton was
in charge of the house Tuesday 10th September 1851 when she was insulted by
William Slipper, who had `much to drink'.
(Isaac ?) High and his son of the same name, who had been playing quoits,
had intervened and a scuffle ensued. Slipper was `a good deal injured' and
was still lying in Hospital some two days later. The case was adjourned
Thursday 12th September.
