On Sunday
morning, 25th June 1911, William Darby, aged 52,
committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver. He
had retired upstairs just after midnight and a single shot
was heard.
Blind for many years, Darby also
carried on a basketmaker's business.
At the inquest, Monday 26th June, a
verdict of "suicide whilst temporarily insane" was returned. |
